Winter Show and Sale
Dec. 9 & 10 10AM-6PM
I’ve been working in stoneware clay to make pots used for oven baking: casseroles, baking dishes, bread pans. These slab-built and wheel thrown pots are all wood-fired, and safe for the oven.
I’ll, of course, have the porcelain tableware in shinos and celadons that have been the main body of my work. The blue-green celadon glaze, for me, is a quiet and elegant glaze that graces any table. Shinos never cease to surprise me when they come out of the kiln: warm salmon colored surfaces sometimes speckled with black dots or smokey patterns.
Dec. 9 is a day of celebration in Phoenixville. After a visit to my studio sale, it’s a five minute drive to the Firebird Festival, an all day event with the lighting of the bird at 8:15 PM. It’s a wonderful Phoenixville tradition. For the last two years I’ve made the commemorative mugs for the festival.
And don’t miss the Luminaria Lighting Festival from 6-9pm at the Canal. I’m hoping to attend both in the evening!
